The CROWN Act: California Bill Aims to Protect Black Folks from Hair Discrimination — Nappy News

California could become the first state to protect Black employees and students from hair-based discrimination, thanks to recently proposed legislation.

The CROWN Act, which seeks to banish policies that punish Black folks for their hairstyles, got the green light in the state Senate in April and could be voted on in the state Assembly as early as this week, the Los Angeles Times reported. https://nappynewz.com/2019/06/30/the-crown-act-california-bill-aims-to-protect-black-folks-from-hair-discrimination/

  1. Hello Kreb. I have never understood some peoples fixation on hair. If a person’s hair doesn’t interfere in their job then it simply is not an issue. Or shouldn’t be. I know of people who would judge a person based simply on their hair. I have had my hair length from nearly shaved to past my shoulder blades. It never changed who I was but it sure has changed the way some people have treated me. I think part of the problem is people wanting to force their views on others. That is wrong. Hugs
