  1. I just heard about it yesterday and I was so happy. When Ethiopia and Eritrea made the peace deal last year, I was cheering for both leaders. The borders became open, people can do business in both countries, and even families of the Tigrinya ethnic group who live on both sides of the border became reunited after over 2 decades of legally not being able to see or communicate with each other.

      1. Exactly! I’m so glad you know about that story and what lead up to it. Even seeing video clips of the Ashenda Festival where both Ethiopians and Eritreans got to celebrate together or musicians from both countries making songs about the peace deal (Hey, I like African music. Haha!) was so heartwarming.

      2. Okay. I was curious, but I still think it’s amazing you listen to music from those countries let alone throughout the African continent. Some musicians from those nations I enjoy are Hailu Mergia, Sami Dan, Ablex007, Yemane Barya, and Elham Mohammed to name a few.
