  1. That is a bizarre way for reparations. Don’t get me wrong, the massive and over-punishment of those that use or are accused of using weed needs to be put in check, but the reparation amount is too short. Why just Evanston and not the whole state if we’re talking about just Illinois (Yes, reparations should be nationwide which we agree on)? I’ve actually been to that city multiple times before and since it’s a big upper middle-class college town (Northwestern University is there) while still being super close to Chicago, I can guarantee you that you got tons of pot-smoking rich white kids walking around scot-free. It’s a start in my home state, but more needs to be done.

      1. Thanks. This is certainly closer to home for me even though I’m not near Evanston let alone what we call the “North Shore” area which has some of the wealthiest locales in the state while being within close driving/commuting distance to Chicago’s North Side. I’ve also been hearing that other cities and towns are in talks of reparations, but the amounts aren’t enough and/or the legislators fear backlash if they go forward with it despite being obvious human rights as well as debts rightfully owed to ADOS in this country.
